Tori and Stephen: Mint Green Dream

Tori and Stephen: Mint Green Dream

Tori and Stephen met and fell in love in undergrad at the University of Illinois. So it was incredibly special for them to get married at their old college town.

I originally started working with Tori and Stephen for their wedding in 2021. At that time, we were playing with some art deco styles to match some of the decor of their venue, The Venue Cu - it's a beautiful space built in the early 1900s.

However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, they moved their date to spring 2022. Revisiting the invitations after a year, we leaned into their love of simple details and went with a subtle, floral outline. It added a perfect, spring-time flair!

One detail that remained the same after a year? Tori’s love for mint green.

We were going for laid back, simple yet sophisticated,” Stephen said. “We wanted spring colors. Tori’s favorite color is mint green so we knew we wanted to incorporate that!”

On the back of the invitation, we added a QR code to access the couple's wedding website to make replying and viewing details a breeze.

I loved working with Tori and Stephen and designing their dreamy, mint invitations. From the beginning, they wanted a clean, elegant look. I’m a huge typography nerd, so making a sleek, type-forward design was a joy. Didot was the perfect font, paired with a touch of delicate script to bring it all together.

“The simple and elegant style of our invitations set an expectation for guests to feel the same about our wedding day, which we think held true,” Stephen said.

Sending them off in mint green envelopes was an absolute must!
