For my non-designer friends, a serif is the little “tail” on the ends of some typefaces (example below).
When it comes to graphic design, I’m a huge fan of typography, and much of my work is type-driven. So naturally when naming my business, I had to honor my love for fonts.
As for the spice aspect – I find bringing people together to be the “spice” of life. Serif & Spice is all about bringing people together through beautiful design and custom paper goods. From wedding invitations, day-of event materials, personal stationery, and greeting cards for all sorts of celebrations or “just because,” it’s all about connection.
A little bit about me. I’m Giuliana, the woman behind the designs. A couple of years ago I started working on custom invitation and stationery design for friends and family, and have been nurturing it ever since. The thank you cards featured are some of the first cards I made. They were a personal project that I designed, letterpress printed, and gave to family members upon graduating college to thank them for all they had done for me (accompanied by handwritten notes of course.)
I’ve always loved the sentiments and meaning behind handheld paper goods like cards and invitations, and they’ve always been my favorite kinds of things to design. Another favorite aspect of my design career is working one-on-one with people, getting to know them, helping them figure out what they want, and bringing their ideas to life. Your invitations and designed goods should embody who you are and your special day or milestone in a way that is personal to you, and I can help you make that happen.
